Digital Radiography
Digital radiographs (x-rays) are computer generated images which allow our doctors to view the bone, certain anatomic structures, and tooth structure below the gum tissue. It also allows us to determine if cavities, infection, fractures, etc. are present. The radiographs are recorded in a similar manner to the more traditional method.
Digital radiographs offer multiple advantages to you and Dr. Flynn.
- There is a reduction of up to 90% less radiation exposure to the patient because digital x-ray sensors are more sensitive than traditional methods.
- The images can be manipulated, magnified, colored, or enhanced by the computer to detect subtle changes. Patients can more easily view problem areas as a result.
- Images can by e-mailed or printed with ease. This is a major advantage in processing insurance claims.
- Images take only seconds to appear when recorded. This increases overall efficiency of our staff and decreases chair time for the patient.
